Chain store CG Mart opened its third outlet at Sunrise Biz Tower, Dilli Bazaar on Friday. According to the company, which is a subsidiary of the Chaudhary Group, the new convenience store has been opened to cater to a growing retail market and serve its customers.
The new store, which is spread over an area of 2,700 sq ft, stocks 7,240 products including fast food and liquors. Diwas Yonjan, manager, retail and supply chain at CG Mart, said that the opening of the store was part of their scheduled task of expanding their supply chain. “We have aimed to serve our customers by understanding their needs and expectations,” he said. He added that the assistants at the store were well trained to provide efficient service to their customers.
According to Yonjan, they have opened the outlet in a new area with high potential to penetrate the local retail market. The mart, which features fast food along with a convenience store, said it has given priority to both domestic and imported products. Unlike its other stores, the new outlet is more spacious and allows the products to be displayed in a better way. In a bid to make it more convenient for customers, the store has also displayed details of the products. “We have planned to focus on generic display in the shop in the near future,” he said.
Customers can buy fruits and vegetables at the new store on weekdays. It also sells a wide range of liquors besides everyday items like groceries, toiletries, beverages, tobacco and ready-to-eat food like bakery and coffee. The store claims that prices at the mart are competitive. “We have considered the feedback of our consumers regarding commodity prices in particular,” said Yonjan. The store has its own parking lot that can accommodate 10-12 four-wheelers and 10 motorbikes.
CG Mart maintains stores in Min Bhawan and Tripureshwor, Kathmandu. It has targeted to open 10-12 convenience stores in the Kathmandu valley by the end of this year.
